Custom House Coffee was established in 2001 by Robert Mastin. The retail store and roasting facility are located in Middletown, Rhode Island, next door to its more famous neighbor, Newport. Over the years Custom House Coffee has won numerous awards, including Best of Newport ten times, Mercury Love Awards, Best of Rhode Island several times, and Best New England Roaster in Yankee Magazine. We are now an employee-owned company with a passion for providing the best experience possible for coffee lovers.

We also provide wholesale coffee to a growing number of local hotels, markets, restaurants, cafes, B&Bs, and corporate organizations. Check out the webstore. Wholesale prices are available to anyone with a purchase of 12 pounds of coffee.

Bob, being a navy veteran, wanted to give back to others who have served our country and founded Veteran Coffee Roasters in 2014. Sold at our shop in Rhode Island and all around the country, $1 for every pound sold goes towards helping veterans. Purchases through the webstore offer three choices for donations to veteran causes. Every Monday at the store is Military Monday, where veterans and active duty military get 50% off their brewed coffee and bean purchases. This brand is becoming well known nationally and is now served in several cafes all over the country.
